The resurgence of the American Bald Eagle here in the Midwest is one of the most uplifting and exciting stories of our lifetime, and we are very grateful for all of the people involved that have helped make this happen over the last 40 to 50 years. Here in northern Illinois, there are roughly 30 to 40 eagle’s nests in the surrounding counties, and it’s always a thrill to see eagles in the trees or soaring overhead. And if we’re lucky, we get to watch an eagle pair raise their eaglets from when they hatch to fledge, and then leave the nesting area.
